Benise Brinson-Provitt

Hello My Name Is...
Mrs. Benise Brinson-Provitt
(English Department Head)
Benise Brinson-Provitt

Leo Tolstoy said, “The only thing that we know is that we know nothing—and that is the highest flight of human wisdom.”

Welcome to Mrs. Brinson-Provitt’s ELA course

I have been blessed to teach for over 20 years and have taught private and public school children. Over the years I have taught a variety of subjects. However, I plan and instruct, whatever the subject area using a wide variety of teaching styles, to meet the wide range of learning styles.  Teaching props and aids, motivational and encouraging techniques, music, games, and other strategies are used to engage students in active learning, when possible.

All through the years I have kept the words of Tolstoy before me.  I do not know everything, and I do not expect my students to either.  This is wisdom.  Yet, it is also wise to try to learn as much as possible.  I do expect each student to rise to the standards of the 8th grade. I do expect each student to improve.

Once again, welcome to my English Language Arts course, and let's have a great year!
