Our Mighty Jaguars athletic program earned the title "Montgomery Public School's 2017 Best Athletic Program".  Mr Dean, the county athletic director, presented the plaque to Principal Aarestad and Athletic Director Shirley Dolman. The Best Middle School Athletic Program title is awarded to the middle school program winning the most sport titles in within its program during a school year. Carr athletics listed as one of our program goals in 2009 to become the best middle school athletic program within 10 years.  We are grateful to the student athletes, parents, faculty, staff, and our administration for their hard work and support.  Their help allowed Carr Athletics to win this award in our 8th athletic season.
We had an outstanding athletic year in 2016-17.  Our girls volleyball program (Coach Dolman) finished in 3rd place participating in their 8th consecutive post season tournament. Volleyball has won 2 city championship titles since 2009. The football team (Coach Davenport) finished in 3rd place.  This was our highest winning position since 2011.

Seventh grade (Coach Holland) and girls basketball (Coach Dolman) teams won the "City Championship " title in regular season and tournament play.   Girls basketball has won 3 titles and participated in every post season tournament since 2009 and seventh grade has won two championship titles. Varsity basketball (Coach Davenport) completed its' 2017 season 2nd place for the regular season and 3rd place overall.  Varsity basketball has won 2 championships.

Our soccer team (Coach Davenport) finished as the regular season city champions and finished second in the post season tournament.  The 2017 title gives our soccer program its 5th city championship title.  Wrestling (Coach Jackson) finished the year in 5th place and hosted their 1st home match this year.

Our Jaguars had an outstanding spring sports season as well.  The girls tennis program (Coach Dolman) won its seventh city championship title.  Boys tennis finished second
(Coach Dolman) in the championship tournament falling short of winning the program's seventh title.

We enjoy ending our sports year with our track and field teams.  Both teams added the finishing touches to a banner athletic season.  The girls track and field team (Coach Dolman) finished the year off winning the county and city championship title.  Girls track has won 13 consecutive meet titles and 8 consecutive city championship titles.  Boys track (Coach Davenport) won both county and city championship titles.  Our boys program has won 3 consecutive and 5 team championships.

We are off to a record start in our 2017-18 athletic season.  It is our goal to win this most prestigious award again this year.  "Way to go Jaguars"
